Line Leader/Laborer

Summary of Responsibilities

Assigned to a specific product line. Works with the machines and equipment of the product line and performs the various manual tasks needed in the manufacturing of the products to help ensure that production schedules are met. Works as a productive member of a manufacturing team.

Essential Functions

Provides direction to crew members working on the line.
Ensure machines operate at optimal efficiency, minimizing downtime.
Perform maintenance on production equipment whenever necessary.
Ensure machine setup before each run and tear down after each run.
Monitor quality of the products, notifying appropriate personnel of any defects.

Material Handler

Summary of Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently move raw and finished materials within the manufacturing, shipping/receiving and warehouse facilities. Load and unload trucks and remove waste materials from the facility. Generate necessary paperwork.

Essential Functions

Follow all Warehouse department Standard Operating Procedures.
Correctly identify quantities, proper coding and damaged goods.
Perform Inventory cycle counts on Tufco and client inventory levels.
Pass receiving paperwork on to appropriate people for data entry.
Stock inbound deliveries in “first in, first out” (FIFO) order.
Inspect and test shipments for quality defects when required.
Deliver stock to work stations for production.
Remove unused and finished goods from workstations.
Drive forklift to move goods.
Adapt to new methods, procedures, or equipment and meet customer requirements.
Recognize and notify management of any potential mechanical or electrical problem that could seriously damage equipment or employees.

Line Quality Technician

Summary of Responsibilities

Perform quality techniques to track, analyze and report on materials, processes and products to ensure they meet the company or customer’s quality standards. The duties performed are in accordance with specifications and product/material requirements. Use a variety of analytical and precision measuring instruments. Decision-making regarding the results is also part of the everyday routine of the technician.

Essential Functions

Serve as the main line resource for quality issues
Make go / no go decisions ( or contact the appropriate people) on material quality questions
Monitor quality analysis and make appropriate adjustments to equipment using Quality Windows or Excel
Proactively look for ways to improve product quality
Perform written and verbal communication with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing personnel using the following techniques: (First Article, Suspect Product Report, Out-of-Specification Variable/Attribute testing, Logbook entries)
Perform the raw material and finished product Hold/Reject process. (Determination and Documentation)
Perform finished product evaluations in accordance with the Target – Acceptable – Marginal – Unacceptable criteria.
Assist Manufacturing, Customer Service and Purchasing in the running of raw material and finished product trial and experimental orders.

General Maintenance Associate

Summary of Responsibilities

To ensure cleanliness of the facility maintaining a “tour ready” facility at all times.

Essential Functions (Core duties/tasks that are fundamental and not marginal to the performance of the job)
Must work in a safe and ethical manner at all times. Responsible for housekeeping and appearance of site offices and common areas. Maintain the cleanliness of the floors by vacuuming and mopping. Collect and dispose of all trash from plan floor, offices, restrooms and common areas. Clean the building restrooms on a regular basis, ensuring soap, towels and toilet paper are available. Dust desks and shelves weekly in all offices and common areas. Provide maintenance support for outside grounds as necessary. Other duties as assigned to maintain the work environment & production. Microbiology Lab Technician

1st Shift! 
Summary of Responsibilities 

Perform daily Microbiology testing and assist in any external testing requirements with qualified microbiological services. Have a complete understanding of the Quality System and assist in the implementation of any new systems as required. 

Position takes daily direction from Microbiology Lab Lead but reports to Quality Control Manager. 

Essential Functions Understand and perform work in accordance with the Quality Management System. Perform daily activities of the Micro Lab to include but not limited to: Logging in samples Plating finished product and environmental samples Reading results for finished product and environmental samples Making Media Follow all laboratory procedures to ensure the safety of other technicians and to obtain accurate results. Assist in the training and qualification of new Laboratory Technicians. Assist in process troubleshooting when results require investigation for products. Use and understand quality software to interpret run charts and ensure test result accuracy. Communicate results to Quality Services Manager or the Micro Lab Lead to ensure minimal process variation. Assist in the corrective action resolution when necessary. Follow Good Laboratory Practices as appropriate and document all work in accordance with standard operating procedures. 
Proper handling and disposal of chemicals and understanding the HMIS codes. Perform problem-solving functions when called upon. Understand and comply with all lockout/tagout procedures. Must work in a safe and ethical manner at all times.

Pricing Coordinator

Summary of Responsibilities 

Provides appropriate support to the coordination of obtaining all pertinent information for providing quotes to our customers. 

Essential Functions 
Updates and maintains confidential internal and external customer files. Assist in the preparation of internet bids, SLEAs and contracts Process, distribute and file quotes, along with maintaining daily quote tracking reports Create and distribute costing sheets, RFQ and PFG’s to the management team for approval Create a final quote and distribute to the customer for any new products or revised pricing Maintain sales/service files to ensure most recent and accurate forms are being utilized Monitor web site inquiries to the proper department Back-up for receptionist with regards to incoming/outgoing mail and phones when she is unavailable. Blending Operations Manager

Machine Operator

Summary of Responsibilities

Machine operators are responsible for the operating of converting and packaging equipment. They will work within a team to produce products and quality at or above quality expectations driven by work orders and product specifications. They will adjust equipment as needed to respond to feedback provided by the line quality technician present on the production line. The operators will also use a mechanical aptitude to assist in planned maintenance events as well as support R&D on new internal and external driven projects within Tufco.

Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

Operate and/or support a wet or dry wipe converting line at communicated performance standards while maintaining quality expectations.
Have knowledge of: emergency stops, main electrical disconnects, interlocks, main air supply and air dump valves, as well as understand and comply with all lockout/tag out procedures.
Be capable of making mechanical adjustments and alter machine settings as necessary to maintain performance and quality as raw material inputs change.
